The New "Best of Two" Rule

The 2026 academic year marks the first time CBSE has implemented the new two-board-exam system. This optional Phase 2 exam was designed to give students a chance to improve their scores without having to wait a full year.

When calculating your final results, CBSE will consider the higher marks obtained in either Phase 1 (April) or Phase 2 (June). You will simply receive marks for the better of your two attempts, ensuring your final grade reflects your best performance.
